Sarah Browdy
Sarah began her violin studies at the age of 5 in the Suzuki program. She was taught by several of the highest professionals that were trained by Dr. Suzuki, including John Kendall. Sarah was actively involved in numerous youth orchestras and competitions growing up receiving the highest marks and honors.
After high school, Sarah attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and the University of Missouri - St. Louis where she received large scholarships and was concertmaster of all the university orchestras. While at the university, she studied under John McGrosso of the Arianna String Quartet earning a bachelor’s in music with an emphasis in performance. Having this full experience, she can relate to her students and can guide them through their musical education, knowing first hand what to expect through their journey.
Sarah is passionate about violin and also loves teaching viola! She treats every child as an individual instead of sticking to a cookie-cutter method of learning. Each child has their own specific style and personality and will design a program based off of what is best for the student - emotionally and musically. Sarah starts most kids on Suzuki but also incorporates the traditional method. Not only does she teach youngsters, she enjoys teaching adults and seniors alike. It's never too late to learn how to play!
Sarah not only teaches, but plays professionally in St. Louis and around the midwest. Her recent performances have been with The Illinois Symphony, Metropolitan Orchestra of Saint Louis, Chamber Project - St. Louis, Winter Opera, and Serenade St. Louis, among many others.
