Brent Stater has been a professional music educator for 37 years. He has taught voice, piano, and guitar for almost 4 decades, and has recently added trumpet, flute, clarinet and percussion to his offerings. The multi-instrumentalist owned and operated his own “rock school” in the greater Pittsburgh area from 1998 until 2021.  He and his students have had the rare opportunity to share the concert stage with such rock legends as KISS, Kansas, Ace Freley, Ted Nugent, Billy Squire, the Charlie Daniels Band, to list but a few.
 
As an operatic baritone, he has been the featured soloist with The National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, as well the Pittsburgh, Virginia, Canton, Nittany Valley, Johnstown, Greensburg, and Pennsylvania Center Chamber orchestras. He has also been a soloist with the Pittsburgh Opera, Opera Theater of St. Louis, Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, Dayton Opera, Opera Theater of Springfield, and the Canton Civic Opera.  The baritone is also a baroque specialist and has been a featured soloist with the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh, the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh, and the Collegium Musicum at Heinz Chapel.
 
He is an honors graduate from the University of Illinois School of Music. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and he is also a graduate of the Pittsburgh Opera Center at Duquesne Young Artist Program, as well as the Emerging Singers Program at the Wagner Society of Washington D.C.  He has studied voice with such operatic legends as Sherrill Milnes, Dolora Zajick, Evelyn Lear, Mildred Miller, Thomas Paul, Nicholas DiVirgilio, Edward Zambara,  and Diana Walters.
