Andrea Young

Brought to Music City with goals of backing up major acts on violin, mandolin and vocals, Andrea Young has done that and more. Her journey has taken her from developmental deals to a record deal...from performances with notable artists across genres to touring success with her own band, Farewell Angelina... to becoming an official Cultural Ambassador of the United States. In her time off of the road, she is a busy studio musician, she teaches violin and viola lessons, and coaches up and comers who want to learn how to navigate the music industry in Nashville.

Her journey on the violin began when she was 2 years old studying with some of the Suzuki Method's best- including Dr. John Kendall. Incredible teachers from around the world would come to learn from Dr. Kendall and Andrea reaped countless benefits from the program. She learned early on that there were a multitude of successful ways to teach the same skills. The key was to figure out which methods worked best with each individual student. Andrea is committed to finding that magic combination for everyone she teaches.

Andrea began teaching at 15 and eventually landed a job at Teipen Performing Arts in Saint Louis. She graduated with honors on scholarship at SIUE with a focus in Education. As a performer, she has appeared on CMT, GAC, ESPN, and stages across the U.S., Asia & Europe. She has played in a house band with Sixwire on CMT’s “Can You Duet,” with the Coral Reefers on the American Legacy Tour,  for “One Tree Hill” actress Jana Kramer, Ruston Kelly, Hall of Fame Songwriter Marcus Hummon, “American Idol’s” Bo Bice, “The Voice’s” Craig Wayne Boyd, Mercury Recording Artist Halfway to Hazard, among many others. As an artist, she has opened for many Country Music greats- from Tim McGraw to Jason Andean....Rascal Flatts to Darius Rucker...Charley Pride to Charlie Daniels.

Her performance career hasn’t slowed her passion for teaching. Instead, she is able to bring a wealth of new knowledge and experience into lessons.

All ages and levels are welcome- from beginning to advanced. She teaches Suzuki, Classical and Fiddling of all kinds.
