Student Spotlight: Sammie Lord

Sammie Lord has been studying violin for 9 1/2 years, beginning at the age of 4. She studied violin with Nora Teipen and Dana Myers and currently takes instruction from Joe Kaminski. She plays in the St.Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, Webster University's Young People's Symphonic Orchestra, Kirkwood United Methodist Church's Jubilee Band and the Kirkwood High School's Symphonic Orchestra. She has been chosen to perform with the 1st Violins in the Missouri All State Orchestra 2010.
In 2003, when she was 8 years old, she performed at a luncheon for the order of the Eastern Star Grand Chapter of Missouri. She also plays violin at church services and weddings. Sammie swims for the Kirkwood Community Swim & Dive team, enjoys reading, singing, playing computer games and chatting with friends on Face Book.
